Fertilizer Friday - October 16
Happy Friday everyone! Please join me and our host Tootsie over at Tootsie Time for another edition of Fertilizer Friday.
It's mid-October already and this weekend we are expecting a Nor' Easter and a dusting of snow. Around my yard there's not much blooming and the houseplants have been taken in for the season, but thankfully the mums are still doing really well.
The coleus tilt-a-whirl hasn't been affected by the cold yet. I'm planning on propagating this one.
I found this leaf really interesting with the bug-eaten holes.
Shades of red and burgundy are all around us this time of year. The sumac fruit is so vibrant.
There are lots of rose hips on the side of the road and especially around the beaches.
Wildflowers always make me happy especially in fall. I found these growing in the backyard.
I'm still amazed this zinnia is around. I've really got to gather up some seeds from it - if it ever would stop raining.

Love the pictures of all of your blossoms! I'm so jealous! All I'm really seeing blooming around here is mums and the foliage turning bright orange, red and yellow. But even still, the fall leaf colors are quite splendid! Thanks for the tour of your garden.
Love all the images, but the coleus is superb!
I was oooh-ing and aah-ing with each photo...I think the best for me is that last one! just gorgeous girl! love it all....
Lovely Mums and Coleus must try growing them myself next year just a couple more things to extend the season.
This is the first time I have seen coleus tilt-a-whirl and I'm loving it.. putting it on my wish list..
everything looks so fallish and pretty.

Beautiful there as usual! That Coleus is a really neat one. Hope you don't get much snow.
Don't you just love the colors of fall? All those reds, golds & apricots. Yummy. Thanks for taking all of us on the journey with you.~~Dee
Beautiful fall pictures! I love the coleus and the sassafras leaf and the rose hips.
You have so many pretty flowers left still. We are in on that noreaster also. We will see what happens. THanks for sharing your great photos.
Okay Jackie~~ I saw your Coleus 'Tilt-a-whirl' on an earlier post and thought ooh la la. Well now I'm hyperventalating. My containers will not be without this gem next year.

I WANT that coleus!! Castor bean is really cool, too.
Loved your kayaking adventure Jackie :)
You've got some great shots of autumnal color. I grew tilt-a-whirl last year and wish I would have taken cuttings. Good luck with yours.

Always Growing
We got that nor'easter & last Weds. sleet which is very unusual for this time of year for us, anyway. Our flowers got creamed with the frost.
Have a wonderful, warm week. TTFN ~Marydon
